Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at farminthewildwood@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A Community Supported Agriculture program is a partnership between you and your local farmer, or in this case, farmers. Members commit to a season of food in advance, which allows farmers to plan their crops, manage labor, and grow with intention. In return, members receive a weekly share of seasonal produce grown specifically for them.

Our CSA is built through intentional collaboration between multiple local farms. Each farm grows what they do best, and we are transparent about who grows what each week. This model creates more stability for farmers and a more reliable, thoughtfully curated share for members.

Advance commitment gives farmers predictable income before the season begins. This reduces waste, improves crop planning, and supports a fair wage for our farmers and their families. It is the foundation that makes this model work.

Shares include a mix of seasonal vegetables, roots, greens, herbs, and occasional fruits. Contents change week to week based on what is growing well and ready to harvest. Members receive a weekly email explaining what is included, along with possible substitution options (if available), storage tips and recipes.

Yes, we understand that moments of illness and times of vacations/travel can put your fresh produce plans on the back burner. Our program offers the flexibility to pause a box, with up to 3 weeks available to double up or make up for any missed bags. With this in mind, we recommend limiting your skips to 3 to leave time to make up your boxes.

The CSA runs for 28 weeks, April through early December, with planned breaks built into the schedule. Dates are published in advance so members can plan accordingly.

Absolutely! We offer rolling enrollment all season. Joining mid-season still supports farmers and helps maintain the stability of the program, so join us whenever makes the most sense for your schedule.

Pickups take place each week beginning on Wednesdays at designated partner locations. Each location has specific pickup windows and instructions, which are shared clearly with members ahead of time.

Seasonal eating can be a learning process. Your membership includes weekly emails with storage instructions, recipes, and practical tips from farmers and chefs to help you use your produce with confidence.

Your food is grown by Farm in the Wildwood (Piedmont), Growing Green Family Farms (Anderson), Hedgerow Farm (Piedmont), and Stump Creek Farms (Ware Shoals). We also have a small network of local guest farms providing specialty crops throughout the season. Each week, we share which farm grew each item so members know exactly where their food comes from.

Your produce is thoughtfully grown with NO synthetic chemicals, herbicides, or pesticides. Technically, our growing practices are "beyond organic" as we are also committed to eco-friendly, sustainable practices and prioritize healthy, living soil to produce nutrient-dense vegetables. That being said, our farms are not certified organic. We focus on transparency and responsible stewardship rather than labels, and we are always happy to share more about how your food is grown.
